This is one of those times for me. Perusing the internet for hours for the perfect worktable/desk paid off. I'm so grateful I found Mill Finish and Alex. Solid engineering, attractive elegant minimalist design from start to finish including the shipping box (99% recyclable - YAY! - in UT). Assembly is intuitive and easy. Be mindful of Alex's instructions regarding screws - tighten halfway until all pieces in places. Set it upright, can't help but notice how solid, ran my hand across the smooooth top and smiled :) I had a couple of questions about finish and time frame so sent a message. One hour and 3 minutes later, Alex responded. What? Impressed?? Heck yeah! I tell/show pics to co-workers, family and friends. I love my Mill Finish work table/desk. Thank You Alex!
Phenomenal. This is definitely the best desk I've ever purchased. Assembly was a breeze (simpler than IKEA!), and left me wondering why all furniture wasn't as elegantly designed.
Things I didn't expect when I first purchased:
1) The leveling foot is extremely satisfying. Being able to go from diner-table-wobbly to rock-solid is something I'm going to show to everybody I can. It just works and I love it.
2) The desk is solid. Like, stand on top of it and jump, solid. I can tell this is going to last for a very long time.
I had been looking for a desk that I'd be able to keep for a long time and I definitely found it!
Will be recommending to all my friends.
You should know, I'm not the best at putting together furniture. But when I got this desk and had time to build it, my wife (who actually loves putting together furniture) was gone for the whole day.
In a fit of courage (and curiosity), I decided to tackle it myself anyway.
First off, right when I opened the box, WOW. The bamboo looks and feels incredible. Reminded me that I don't buy real furniture often enough, and I'm happy to be changing that.
But the best thing was that it turns out it was SUPER SIMPLE to put together, even with a football game on.
Feels super sturdy and solid when completed. If I wasn't snacking and watching football I'd have gotten it done in twenty minutes or so.
It really does feel (unlike many desks I've gotten before) like something I'll keep for a very long time.
I'm so happy I purchased this craft table/desk. It's just what I've been looking for - a simple, clean design, the highest quality materials and outstanding workmanship. Solid, with a stabilizer that works like a charm. Set up was quick and mercifully easy - no swearing required. It came in packaging designed to fit precisely and fully protect the item. I chose the bamboo finish - it's lovely. This is furniture that lasts a lifetime.
I’ve moved a lot for work and always pick up a cheap IKEA desk at the new residence, then sell it before the next move. Staying at the new place for a while and decided to try getting something nice for once, especially something I use day to day. This thing took like 12 screws (included), and came together <5 minutes. It is rock solid, no wobble at all with full weight on it or even jumping on it! Damn, can’t go back to IKEA desks ever... so spoiled now hehe. Bonus —> easy to break down (flat box!) and move with. This dude made his own built-in adjusting feet on the desk - never heard or seen anything like it before. ? (Multiple?) Lifetime warranty - in a world of disposable and cheap, this work table is something i’m passing down to my son.
